Easiest Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries

Today's Valentine's Day Tip:

INGREDIENTS
  • 16 ounces milk chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries with leaves
DIRECTIONS
  1. Insert toothpicks into the tops of the strawberries.
  2. In a double boiler (or crockpot or microwave), melt the chocolate and shortening, stirring occasionally until smooth. Holding them by the toothpicks, dip the strawberries into the chocolate mixture.
  3. Turn the strawberries upside down and insert the toothpick into styrofoam for the chocolate to cool. Drizzle with white chocolate or apply 2nd coating of white chocolate, roll in nuts or sprinkles or try something new!
Arrange in wax paper-lined heart-shaped box, clear corsage box from a florists shop, or poke wooden skewer into the tops of each strawberry and arrange in green florist foam to make a strawberry bouquet. Send me your photos and I'll post them here! Yum! Enjoy!!
