Damask Thank You
THANK YOU in a Damask print. In sticking with my goal of not buying any new supplies, I printed the the damask print, the middle crest and the thank you circles on white cardstock right off the web. The pink ribbon was a leftover from a previous craft. So, all-in-all this was a pretty inexpensive card club!

My toddler shirt dress - FINISHED!
I opted not to do the waistband since it was already going to be a bit small since I started with a womens shirt which is quite a bit smaller than the mens shirt recommended. But I did keep the original shirt length so I didn't have to redo the hem, which was an added bonus.and here it is on my adorable niece!

Shirt Dresses for Toddlers
This toddler shirt dress is way TOO CUTE! Can you believe it was made from a mens dress shirt? Check out Made blog to see more photos of this dress. Click HERE to go straight to her easy tutorial to make one of your own. It looks really simple. I think I'll make one for my niece. HERE you can see a bunch of toddler dresses that others have made from mens shirts, too!

Duct Tape Mini Me?
Ever heard of making your own dress form out of duct tape? I read a how-to article about it a few years back and I think I even bought the downloadable ebook on how to do it but I've never actually done it nor do I know anyone that's made one. Well, for everyone else that is waiting for someone else to try this crazy idea: it's your lucky day! JP has agreed to help me make one this weekend. I'll post the pics (maybe some vids) of how it turns out. :)
Threads Magazine has 4 inexpensive options to make your own dress form, all with photos. YouTube also has some good instructional videos.
In the meantime, here's a vid on how the professional dress forms are made. Kinda nifty:

Swim, little fishies!
JP and I went to the California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park to see their new aquarium exhibits. It was amazing! They have a 4-story indoor Rain Forest with exotic birds and butterflies that ends with a stroll UNDER the aquarium so the fish are all swimming above you! Plus, the world's largest aquarium coral reef with over 2300 fish!
Here are a few little vids of what we saw:

Big, hungry lizard

Sting Ray Tank
